Iyanya Mbuk Biography (Nigerian Music Artist)

 Iyanya Mbuk; Born October 31st 1986 in Cross River state to a family of four, Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk is a graduate of Business Management of the University of Calabar and co-founder, Made Men Music Group; his record label.

Iyanya, at a tender age, started singing as a member of a children’s Choir in his church and at weddings before he got an offer to perform regularly at Channel View Hotel in Calabar, his hometown. Though Iyanya started singing professionally back in 2005, his journey to fame actually took a remarkable leap forward on December 7, 2008 when he won the first ever MTN West Africa Project Fame reality show and have since proved he has a deserving role to play in the Nigerian Music Industry by headlining a 16 state tour sponsored by Nigerian telecom giant, MTN.

It would be recalled that while at the MTN Project Fame academy, Iyanya displayed a high level of excellence and vocal skill in his performances.

In September of 2009, Iyanya was awarded the opportunity to perform at the world renowned New York Fashion Week, and even got the chance to serenade Grammy Award nominee Melanie Fiona at the LTB Jean store in Soho New York. Iyanya’s freshman album released shortly after he rose to fame, entitled “My Story”, and it enjoyed massive airplay both on radio, TV stations and Nigerian music websites. Iyanya's most notable songs include ‘In Love Again’, ‘I’m the One’, and ‘South-South Girl’.

In 2012, Iyanya Mbuk once again proved there is much more to his singing talent by dropping chart toppers like “Kukere’’, an ‘Etighi’ dance song and “Bust Me Brain’’ which have already taken over airwaves all over West Africa and global African diaspora communities in the US and UK; these songs have become a massive hit.

“Kukere’’, an ‘Etighi’ dance song, has proven to be Iyanya's biggest hit to date and also featuring Africa’s best entertainer Dbanj in the remix of kukere, with many notable accomplishments such as being named Top FM No.1 song for the month of May, No.1 on Beat FM Blackberry Top ten count down, No.1 Viewers Choice on Soundcity, as well as No.1 on rhythm FM and No.2 on Radio Port Harcourt. His successful 15 state ‘Iyanya and Friends Kukere Tour’ showed that Iyanya is one of the most sought after musicians in Nigeria.

In March 2012, Iyanya Mbuk started his own record label with his partner and manager Ubi Ekapong Ofem, named "MADE MEN MUSIC AND MANAGEMENT LIMITED", aka Made Men Music Group, TRIPLE M G.

In February 2013, Iyanya dropped his sophomore album titled “Iyanya vs Desire”, which literally means Iyanya the pop artist and Desire the RnB side of Iyanya. The album featured Nigeria’s notable music stars like MI, D'Banj, Flavour,Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Vector Tha Viper, May D, just to name a few.

Iyanya recently became a brand ambassador for Nigerian Telecommunication giant, MTN, and the deal is said to be a worth a whooping N60 million Naira (about $372,000 USD). The Kukere master, who is blessed and fortunate, is on the way to the top. This brings us to the end of Iyanya Mbuk's biography.
